I’m sure there are lots of other people out there doing the same thing, but can we just take a minute to sing the praises of Jessica Liu, who created the javascript tutorials for Khan Academy’s computer science section. Jessica has done a lot for the 20-30 kids in our club who have worked through her tutorials:
- Taught in an engaging and accessible way. Have you watched the videos? They are top notch.
- Provided a role model to kids of both genders in out club, as someone clearly cool and fun that also codes.
- Entertained. Her cheesy style is perfect for the 10-13 year olds on the Khan Academy track in our group.
So I’ll stop there, with an imaginary Coding Teacher trophy for Jessica that is pure gold and at least 4 ft high. Just wanted to make sure everyone knows about the incredible resources out there for learning programming.
